File No. 063
Postmark
Delivered, Undelivered, Delivered Again
"I am the return address. Everyone gets home eventually."
Found: Left on the back step in a Priority Mail box that wasn't ours ยท Filed 2018
Quirks
- Insists she was shipped, not built
- Refuses to stand near scissors
- Holds onto every clothespin she meets. Will not explain the collection.
Parts
- Priority Mail cardboard, body and legs
- Corrugated triangle brace, crown
- Wooden clothespins, fingers
- Plastic bin lid, orange and blue, mouth
Origin
The box arrived without a label, without postage, and without anyone remembering ordering anything. Inside was Postmark, already assembled, already looking mildly inconvenienced.
The mailman said he didn't deliver it. The neighbors said they didn't see it. The box, when unfolded, still read 'thank you for using Priority Mail Service' in every direction, as if the message were the only thing keeping her together.
